PiJuice…
For anyone who has been coming to my shows, following my social media updates or has spoken with me, you might know that I am trying to migrate over to a fully battery operated performance set up. You might have seen me playing music with a small plywood box.
Inside the box I have a Raspberry Pi that is running Pure Data (PD), which is a really amazing programming environment I use to create music/sound. I use the LCD screen to navigate to my PD patch, which is stored on a USB thumbdrive. Lately I have been prototyping with an awesome Pi shield called PiJuice, that powers the Pi through several battery and AC power options.
In this image I soldered a button onto it to turn it on and off.
Here is an image with my Pi, LCD shield with buttons to navigate the Pi, the Pi Juice Shield, an LED power indicator, a button to turn it on and off, my soundcard and a huge big ass Lipo battery.
I am going to keep trying things out, the battery doesn’t seem to work too great with the PiJuice, but this is very promising. I also have been recording with this system and I gotta say, it sounds amazing!
